Description
The Gurteen Donkey Creel Basket is inspired by the traditional creels once used throughout rural Connemara, carried by donkeys across the rugged landscape to transport turf, seaweed, and daily goods. Handwoven using willow grown and harvested from my own land in Galway, each basket reflects Irish heritage, traditional craftsmanship, and a deep connection to the land. Finished with adjustable straps, the basket can also be worn as a practical backpack, blending old traditions with modern everyday use.
